Origami Owl has been making huge strides. Sales have increased an unprecedented 450% for the last half of April, and we're ranking in the top three (behind Mary Kay and Pampered Chef) in the home party industry. Couple this with dock strikes, mother's day, a new lower shipping rate and brand new products that had designers all waiting until that magic time to order (and let's not forget a new shopping cart system that, while probably aggressively tested, was not quite ready to be introduced into the wild that is a 450% sales increase) and you've got a recipe for crashed phone systems due to tremendous call volumes and servers close to exploding over the email volume.
The result? Some back ordered items that shouldn't have back ordered, some seriously long wait times and emails that took forever to be answered.
The good news is, the dock strikes are over and the Nest has done everything from increasing man power to increasing work days and shipping things overnight at their expense to try to make everything right. It's far from perfect at the moment, but it's getting better.
So why should you be excited if you're a new designer? Why wouldn't you be? Aside from some snafus, are you getting the bigger picture here? Do I need to repeat it a third time? Say it with me... 450% sales increase in fifteen days...
I am VERY excited to be a part of this! I cannot wait to see what May and June bring for me.
